Unit Chief-Domestic Terrorism Operations Unit, Counterterrorism Division. I provide investigative, legal, and policy direction for all FBI Field Offices within the Domestic Terrorism Program, with a specific focus on right-wing extremism. Also responsible for management of 18 personnel, a multi-million dollar budget, and several of the FBI’s counterterrorism Domestic Terrorism programs. As Unit Chief of a Domestic Terrorism Operations Unit, I am also responsible for developing the threat mitigation strategies of multiple domestic terrorism extremist programs for all 56 field offices. Responsible for implementation of policy and providing training and guidance to Special Agents and management. Managed the operational support of high profile counterterrorism and criminal investigations in fast paced environments as a FBI senior manager. Initiated, implemented, and utilized a risk based management indicator system which diagnostically determines the threat and risk of violence posed by individuals based on ideological factors. Results enhanced the understanding of the national threat picture and stream-lined resource allocation and effective personnel management. Developed and instituted national policy, redirecting and focusing the strategic approach to domestic terrorism investigations toward detection and mitigation.

Islamabad, Pakistan

As a high ranking Senior U.S. Law Enforcement Official representing the FBI in Pakistan, I established and facilitated collaborative investigations and liaison with foreign partners, and I also established and maintained liaison with principle law enforcement and security services. Conducted successful joint national security and criminal investigations with host nations. Enhanced foreign partner capacity building through the implementation of effective training initiatives. I initiated, and established and developed a training program for law enforcement and security elements to enhance leadership development for mid-level managers in several law enforcement agencies in Pakistan. Also initiated and managed an ad hoc joint agency task force with DOD responsible for the recovery and re-integration of Americans who had been former hostages. Responsible for managing 400K annual budget funding to administer FBI operations in Pakistan.

As a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA), in the Domestic Terrorism Operations Unit, post 911, I was responsible for program management and the supervision of 5 investigative analysts and special agents. I managed and directed the daily investigative and prosecutive efforts of 11 field offices and over 350 investigations which included responses to domestic terrorism threat matters. I was also responsible from 2009 to 2013, to provide domestic terrorism training to all terrorism agents assigned to terrorism squads with three to five years’ experience with the FBI.

Platoon Leader of Armor platoon responsible for leadership of 16 soldiers.
