In excess of 39 years Canadian Forces (CF) Regular and Reserve Force leadership and management experience. Enlisted in CF in 1968 as a naval Radar Plotter, selected for Officer Candidate Training Program in 1971. Attended Basic Officer and Air Weapons Controller training and commissioned Lieutenant in 1972. Postings include numerous stations across Canada and the United States at tactical and operational levels as an Aerospace Controller with 8 years in flight operations accumulating over 3000 flying hours. Three tours with national level headquarters as a staff officer managing the fielding of radar programs, administering national operational air control services and several national security emergency response plans. National budgeting and programming experience at Air Force Headquarters. Three international assignments. A career of interviewing, counseling and mentoring students and subordinates. Considerable experience with public speaking, interaction with the public and briefing senior staff. Excellent oral and written skills coupled with solid understanding of financial controls and reporting procedures. Transferred to the Reserve Force in 2002. Over two years as an Air Reserve Flight Commander managing a flight of 135. At retirement was the Director of the Combined Forces, Aerospace Operations Center and Deputy Director of Operations at 1 Canadian Air Division Headquarters. Currently the Director of Operations at the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, Manitoba Division directly leading a team of eight managers guiding approximately 450 Commissionaires in a variety of security or support to law enforcement services across Manitoba. Strategic vision to identify and focus on opportunities and the operational expertise to meet objectives. Demonstrated solid professional relationship management skills both internal and external to the organization. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Level II (Secret) security clearance.
