Using MRP to plan and place orders with suppliers to support our customer forecasts. This also led to expediting and defers of orders to line up with revised forecasts as well as better manage on-hand inventory dollars. Parts are quoted out for best pricing and quantities applicable for our need. Daily follow-ups on entering committed dock dates, checking past due orders, and problem parts whether it be pricing, delayed freight delivery, damaged parts, etc. Expediting parts for shortages is always a priority as the customer is always of the utmost concern so we review every option to bring in parts faster to meet urgent needs.Other responsibilities involve following up on RMA requests, cost reduction projects, qualifying cheaper sources of material, and networking with our expanding list of suppliers.

This position has since been rolled into Buyer responsibilities. Main duties revolved around data entry. After orders were placed, it was my duty to follow up for confirmations, follow up on past due orders, notify the Buyers of any problems, and ensure hot parts were expedited through Receiving. A daily shortage meeting was held to ensure the priorities were known and focused. Quotes would be funneled to me to enter into our Files for easy viewing as well as loading the purchasing information for each part into the MRP system to properly display the minimum order quantity, package size, lead time, and whether or not it could be cancelled/returned.

Receiving purchased material into our inventory system as they arrived. Overnight deliveries and flagged hot parts were prioritized over Ground shipments. There were various quality checks to ensure that the correct parts were being received and incorrect/problem parts were flagged for resolution. Additional responsibilities included filing packing slip paperwork, unloading trucks, putting parts away, working with Purchasing to correct any errors or problems, and distributing personal packages/mail.
