Recently completed, At the Edge of Illusion, available in late 2023, addresses the converging crises of climate, ecosystems, and political economy, focusing on the "800-pound gorilla in the room," which is that a massive societal transformation is necessary to respond effectively to the impending collapse of these multiple interacting complex systems and avoid human extinction. As nations dance around relative responsibility for reducing carbon emissions and only increase carbon in the biosphere, the Earth System destabilizes around them, accelerating the so-far out-of-control plunge of humanity into the Anthropocene we created but do not understand. Radical convergence of the best science and indigenous wisdom offers the only hope to face this new reality.
