I have worked in the environmental field my entire professional career, experienced in all aspects of the industry ranging from retail sales, landscape design, customer service, sales, greenhouse management , management, landscape design and maintenance , organic farming and urban forestry . I have attained extensive experience in grant writing, volunteer management, community engagement, advocating for environmental protection, enforcing a local government shade tree ordinance, setting a standard for urban forestry and being a positive public role model. I continue to strive and evolve with the changing climate of the industry and to help people to understand and learn more about an organic/ holistic way of living.Other qualities I possess and feel are highly beneficial in today’s workplace are Empathy, and being an HSP, a characteristic Dr. Elaine Aron identified in 1990 and only 15-20% of the population possess. Highly Sensitive Person. These qualities give me the ability to perceive, feel, understand and sense qualities in others in a very short time , details others may never have noticed, this also benefits one in daily life as a natural mediator. There are much more qualities with being an HSP than the obvious emotional aspect but gives one a hyper sensitivity to everything we are surrounded by in our environment.My personality type as defined by Myers-Briggs, is the Advocate INFJ, these qualities underlined in this personality type are crucial not only within today’s work place but also in collaborating with outside organizations and the community, these qualities help create effective communication skills, inclusion, equality and a philosophy that perceives everyone from the inside as compared to the old paradigm of what one sees solely on the outside. I would compare how I perceive daily life experiences to that of a tree, we see the obvious features above ground, such as the trunk, branches and leaves but what lies below the surface is much more vast, intricate and complex, if one can understand this highly advanced communicative network, not easily visible to most , only then, will we understand how we can work together in unity, this is the true definition of success, not only in business but as a human being. Understanding, seeing and hearing ones worth, is the path to creating success, each person is perfect in their own way, and should not be compared to another, they are their own standard.One who may sometimes appear to not be the ideal candidate on paper, may also hold qualities that can never be learned by another.
