I'm a recent Information Technology, Cyber concentration, GMU graduate and I currently have my TS/SCI clearance, with a CI poly and CompTIA Security+ certificate.During my time at Brooke Point High School as a VA Star Member, I immersed myself in the Virginia Student Training and Refurbishment (VA STAR) Program, dedicating my efforts to refurbishing computers for members of the community facing technological barriers. This hands-on experience helped me learn how to work with a team and honed my technical skills. Building on this early passion for service and technology, I pursued higher education at Germanna Community College, where I earned both an Associates of Arts & Science degree and a Cybersecurity Certificate. These foundational achievements laid the groundwork for my academic journey, leading me to George Mason University, where I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity.Throughout my academic endeavors, I sought opportunities to apply my knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios. One such endeavor was the A Safely Informed Motorist (ASIM) project, where my team and I participated in the VDOT SmarterRoads Hackathon. Here, we developed an innovative solution to provide motorists with insights on optimal routes using existing VDOT road cameras, demonstrating our ability to devise practical solutions to complex problems. At George Mason, I delved into the realm of Cybersecurity through hands-on projects like LAMP Stack Hardening. This semester-long endeavor involved the creation of a website on an Ubuntu instance, fortified against security threats through meticulous testing and hardening measures. Through simulated attacks and rigorous security protocols informed by industry best practices, I fortified my applications to ensure resilience against potential threats, demonstrating my commitment to safeguarding digital assets in an increasingly interconnected world.Furthermore, I embraced the opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives, such as the redevelopment of Cornerstones' website. As part of my senior capstone project at GMU, I collaborated with a team to conduct a comprehensive Discovery Phase Report, gathering valuable insights, developing personas, and providing recommendations aligned with industry standards. Our efforts culminated in the delivery of a comprehensive report, ensuring that Cornerstones had the resources and guidance necessary to enhance their online presence and fulfill their mission more effectively.
