From November 2015 to January 2018 I spent over 2 years providing two spells of maternity cover as Communications Manager (Thameslink Programme) at Southeastern Railway. The Thameslink Programme was a £multi-billion government sponsored project to improve rail connections across London. It included major works, over several years, to rebuild London Bridge station. This had a significant impact on Southeastern train services and, working with industry partners, I was responsible for project managing all the communications required to keep Southeastern's passengers, stakeholders and staff fully informed. Previous to this I have worked on other railway projects including new timetable launches, new station car park promotions, wayfinding signage for station refurbishments, the industry's first 'wave & pay' contactless payment scheme, publicity for a long term railway line closure and sourcing of onward travel (bus, taxi, foot etc.) information for display at railway stations throughout Britain. I was responsible for the advertising and promotions activities of one of the most successful Train Operators. I was also responsible for a range of other marketing activities including passenger information material ranging from timetables to station signage. I managed the introduction of several new initiatives to improve customer service including one of the very first Train Company websites and the first UK example of railway 'Print At Home' ticketing.
