Responsible for global marketing strategy for academic (university) core lab and commercial service providers. Among other things, redesigned Illumina's certified service provider program into the Propel Core and Service certification program and introduced other programs to maximize consumables utilization for Illumina's DNA sequencing platforms. Worked closely with the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) to establish performance standards for key applications and support critical endeavors through in kind-donations of time and products, and participation on committees.

Responsible for all aspects of the Actionable Genome Consortium for cancer. The purpose of the consortium was, in close collaboration with leaders of the major U.S. cancer centers such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dana Farber Cancer Cancer, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, to advance the establishment of specific standards for the use of next-generation DNA sequencing in clinical oncology.

Defined, developed, staffed and rolled out the new company function of market development. Led a dynamic and highly skilled team of individuals leading Illumina into the "applied" markets of forensic genomics, cancer, agrigenomics, genetic disease, reproductive health, and microbiology. More specifically my organization worked with product marketing, R&D to propose core products and technologies in the context of market needs, owned cross-organizational strategy and recommendations to C-staff for the above markets, drove demand generation activities, proposed gap-filling alliances and collaborations and oversaw development and execution of sales enablement and training.

Guided market development for Illumina's global Agrigenomics franchise. With a team of highly skilled and motivated sales, marketing, product development and customer support professionals, grew the business from $50M to $100M+. Firmly established Illumina's leadership in providing genomic research and testing products to the crop, livestock and companion animal segments. Was accountable for all aspects of business planning & reporting, as well as proposing new product development. Managed products that spanning technologies (DNA sequencing & genotyping) and utility (research & commercial use).

Responsible for formulation and execution of acquisition / partnering in Informatics Division of Agilent's Life Science & Chemical Analysis Business Unit (LSCA).
