My former position with Atradius centered around portfolio management/risk assessment/ financial analysis. However, the role is a blend one, mixing both a risk underwriter portfolio with commercial underwriting into one position. The role has allowed me to work close with our customers when assessing prospective decisions and reviewing strategy as well as allowing me analyze the customer/supplier and provide them with the best decision relative to risk appetite. In addition to this, the risk portfolio and other duties l am responsible for include analyzing financial statements of both private and public companies ranging in size from small start-up firms to multinational corporations. Managing a high traffic portfolio with values in the billions in credit insurance exposure, consisting of 1,000+ U.S. companies within the Banking, Education (including elementary schools and districts to college levels), Financial Services (including insurance of all types and wealth management), Retail sales of sporting goods and manufactures, high end luxury goods (apparel and other luxury items) , Restaurants and food service, Hotels, motels, and other hospitality sector companies.Developing risk strategies and performing annual reviews (public and private) for all companies within the portfolio. Serve as an industry expert to the Local Trade Sector Committee, publishing a detailed report annually for the sectors within my portfolio. Clearly and concisely communicating the underwriting strategy with all stakeholders both internally and externally. And training new underwriter hires and assisting the commercial department on occasion.

My position with the International groups Unit (IGU) focused solely on portfolio management/risk assessment and analysis of large, multinational corporations headquartered both inside and outside the United States, maintaining a global trade network with locations in key markets. The role demanded a strong understanding of corporate structure, supply chain management, trade flow, market trends, cover concentrations and political climates in order to develop risk strategies for companies inside the unit. My role also required heavy use of MS Execl to aid in performing annual reviews for all companies within the portfolio including peer group analysis, exposure spreadsheets, and limit review results. I was also responsible for managing low level claim activity to ensure payments received, reading agency reports from credit agencies around the world. Clearly and concisely communicating the underwriting strategy with all stakeholders both internally and externally, and monitoring and explain sector forecasts to underwriting staff worldwide.

Focused heavily on data integrity, managing agency reports from various credit agencies (Experian and D&B for example,) ensuring timely speed of service, training new underwriter hires, and assisting the commercial department on occasion.
