Rob retired from the EICU / LPI on 13th January 2012, to follow his many personal interests.Rob is remaining active in the Geospatial industry by way of occasional part time contracting / consultancy work. Rob offers over 35 years of experience in the Geospatial Industry with skills ranging from hands on data management, visualisation through to high level strategic analysis. Rob is also at home in senior Management levels related to Geospatial Information.

Rob was seconded from the NSW Maritime in April 2003, to assist in establishing the EICU. The major focus during this period was the implementation of staffing structure and direction for EICU and initial data gathering. This project is being driven by the need for coordinated, consistent and readily accessible data for emergency planning and response especially as a result of possible Terrorism acts.Joined the EICU as a permanent employee in March 2004. Rob’s responsibility covers all technical spatial activities of the Unit especially implementation of the Emergency Services Spatial Information Library (ESSIL) and associated services.The responsibility also covers development of new projects/initiatives within the EICU as a result of changing requirements (e.g. Buildings Database and 3d Underground Database).He also relieves for the Director EICU
