About Robert Collison
For over thirty years, I have worked as a journalist, editor, advertising copywriter and corporate communications consultant. As a journalist I have worked for most major Canadian media organizations, including the Globe and Mail (where I functioned as Senior Writer at the Report on Business Magazine), the National Post, Saturday Night (where I was Associate Editor) and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the National Film Board (where I wrote, directed and produced award-winning feature length documentaries). As well I was editor of two Vancouver-based magazine, one a city magazine called V, distributed in the Vancouver Sun and another business magazine, Equity, distributed provincially across British Columbia. As an independent journalist I have written for most major Canadian newspapers and magazines including the Globe & Mail, the National Post, the Toronto Star, Canadian Business, Report on Business Magazine, Toronto magazine (in the Globe & Mail), Chatelaine, Homemakers, NUVO, Canadian House & Home, Toronto Life.As a corporate communications consultant, I have worked with the Canadian government, the Government of Ontario and major corporations across Canada, like the Bank of Montreal, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Boston Consulting, Marakon Consulting, Mitchell Madison Consulting, Stelco, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.I worked extensively with Canada’s pre-eminent real-estate advertising company, marketing multi-million dollar condominium projects, including the One Bloor, Chaz on Charles, The Mercer, Ritz-Carlton, One Bloor, ICE Condos, etc. (Such campaigns include everything from ad copy, editorial books, web copy, direct- mail copy and e-blasts.) My work in real-estate advertising has won many awards, including the 2010 and 2012 Gold Prize for Best Marketing Magazine at The Nationals, a global competition sponsored by the Washington, D.C.-based National Association of Homebuilders and Silver Prizes in 2011 ans 2017 in the same category.
