About Robert Cranham-Glancy
I am an “Outstanding” practitioner and see myself as a facilitator, leader and educator, overseeing and improving attainment & strategy for engagement, curriculum design for both secondary, further and adult education. Focusing on skills to improve attainment for pupil premium students as well as the more able. I also have obtained a First Class Broadcasting Degree and a Masters in History, Culture and Belief focusing on conflict resolution. Furthermore, I have over 10 years experience within the television and broadcasting industry. I am an extremely personable, creative and innovative individual, capable of using professional broadcasting equipment to a high standard as well as a high proficiency in IT to utilise a full range of software from creative suits to CMS. All of which have proven to be vital in creating multi modal distant learning resources during lockdown. I have a proven track record of improving underachieving departments, via developing collaborative strategies that utilise staff talents, and developing them into successful teachers and departments that use data effectively to plan for both long and short term attainment projections. I apply my creativity & ability to distil complex information into bespoke curriculums for all the educational providers that I have worked at. These curriculums are designed with the soul purpose to improve student engagement & raise attainment through a skills based approach & PLC mapping. Raising attainment, and pushing students to reach their full potential is a dedicated passion of mine, and through my career in education thus far, has never failed to improve year on year. From my role in Herschel Grammar School (HGS), where I improved results by 780%, catapulting the Media Department, from the worst to the best performing department in the school, as well as obtaining the students 17 A*, 7 A's & 2 B's. The results at HGS, lead to me being Head Hunted, but John Madejski Academy, who were in special measures at the time, to start the development of a second specialism, given the opportunity to carve a department in my own vision & ignite my passion for curriculum design. Eventually the development and success of the Visual Arts Department led to me taking over and running the Art & Technology Faculty, spreading the overall success via bespoke learning, multi-modal engagement & active learning strategies that made the Visual Arts a success.
