On the traditional side I dealt with line improvements, process improvement, equipment upgrades and equipment replacement/purchases. On the project side I deal with project bidding, contractor supervision and budget monitoring. In 2016 I managed the completion of a 74,000 sq. ft. facility expansion, followed by a new 100,000 sq. ft. facility for new products as the internal project manager. This included bid negotiation through building construction, utilities installation and state inspection. I held weekly punch list and scheduling meetings along with hosting production and progress tours for our corporate teams and senior management.Key Contributions and Accomplishments:• Coordinated and supervised an $850,000 plant expansion in coordination with the city and county inspectors, production, and maintenance departments. Initial scope and project approval were reserved for the home office in Japan, I had approval authority for all contractor work to include structure, water, air, and electrical.• Coordinated and Supervised a $1.4 million plant construction project for a new product line. Consulted with the construction contractor and specified feed power size with the city, also consulted and modified the initial scope to match desired factor of safety and production capacity for a high-pressure boiler system. Initial scope and project approval were reserved for the home office in Japan, I had approval authority for all contractor work to include structure, water, air, and electrical.• Led a cost reduction project in the form of downtime reduction through chemical testing to reduce the loss of $1.5 million in production stoppage. The first phase successfully reduced the loss by 50%. -

The first and most standard was traditional manufacturing engineering including cost reductions, routing creation, process improvement and machine evaluations. As a tool designer I dealt with outside suppliers for new and improved tooling for upgrades and efficiency improvements. I also designed and routed tooling fixtures and handled all of the outside contracting for any sub-processes. The third aspect was in the project management role. That role included an ongoing project to improve the purchase, storage and kan-ban of the shop tooling and the tool room.Key Contributions and Accomplishments:• Designed machining tooling and fixtures in coordination with the machine operators, programmers, process engineers, and QA inspectors. Fixtures were utilized both in the machining and inspection process.• Created and maintained the shop-floor layout utilized for facility planning, capital equipment installation, and process and flow evaluation.• Initiated and controlled a plant wide tool control/tool management overhaul program to address 600 hours of lost time per month attributed to discontinued tooling and outdated processes. -

We were able to realize a cost reduction of 2.5 million dollars through a variety of projects including the outsourcing of shipping container construction, tool control and vending, and process changes for assembly utilizing improved tooling and methods. I spent the following two years as the nuclear department buyer/planner and was given control of the manufacturing portion of an R&D project designing a series of packages for the containment area of nuclear power plants. Key Contributions and Accomplishments:• Coordinated with Design Engineering by attending and hosting update and modification meetings where I received the final designs and incorporated them into the production process. As an R&D project it was not incorporated into any of the cells but was a standalone entity. I was responsible for the procurement of over 300 supplier parts and in-house machined parts to construct 45 control valve assemblies of various sizes, the cell assignments for the machined parts, design for manufacturing corrections, assembly, testing, inspection plans, and packaging and shipping. -

Commendation received.• Security Clearance held at the level of Secret and controlled the combination to the classified documents and flight data vault for the avionics division.
