My main responsibilities at AMP Capital focused on the development of the financial institution’s sales and events collateral. This involved planning, designing and creating finished artwork such as flyers, brochures, insights and educational papers, digital advertising, motion graphics as well as campaign and event collateral.Many campaigns required research and consultation with the channel client to provide a range of products: reports, brochures, digital adverts of various dimensions, and posters to name a few. For events, a similar range of collateral was required as well as standard artworks, pull-up banners along with customised signage, menus, table place-cards, nametags as well as the formatting and customising of digital presentations. In addition to these highly strategic campaigns and the everyday self-directed BAU work, I also managed contractors and designers and occasionally the team’s overall workflow. I thoroughly enjoyed this senior role that allowed me to use my management experience while enabling me to still work within traditional graphic design.

I started a digital and print design agency with my brother which grew into a well-respected, profitable, medium-sized firm over its 16 year history. Our clients focused mainly within the tourism/hospitality and medical industries but also included a variety from other industries. We worked with SMEs as well as not-for-profits like YMCA Sydney and Centre for Independent Studies, and large corporates including Philips, Medtronic and Lion. We also worked extensively with government agencies such as Destination NSW, Dept of Trade and Industry NSW, Office of Environment and Heritage to name a few. As Director, my role required me to wear many hats: Senior Designer, Creative Director, Strategic Consultant while managing a team of 2 designers and 3 developers. Account management and client communication was also a key area in which I was able to develop strong, long-lasting relationships: many of our major clients having stayed with GrafX for periods of 8 years or longer.
