I started my career with the NZ Post Office in Rotorua in 1984. Over the next 11 years I accumulated considerable experience within the various divisions, which included such roles as Draughtsman, Internal Networks, PABX, Rigging, and Outside Plant. I met and worked with a number of people of enormous skill, who mentored me in my early working life. I relocated to Auckland with my wife and brand-new baby boy in 1995 to work with Telecom Business Systems Limited, eventually assuming the role of Account Manager. During my time in Auckland, I primarily worked in Sales and Key Account Management. My specific focus was initially in Data Cabling, and then later expanded into key emerging technologies, such as Wi-Fi and High-Performance Enterprise fibre cabling solutions. Upon moving to Logical Networks I lead the team focusing on Wi-Fi bridging and Enterprise technology, this was an exciting time using an emerging wireless technology.In 2004 I accepted the role of Location Manager for Anixter New Zealand to support the distribution of the world-leading SYSTIMAX product range. This grew into an NZD$6 million business. After seven exciting years, I left to work at a leading security company, Fortlock Security. During my tenure here I gained experience on large access control systems, and IP surveillance installations. After nearly two years in this role, I was approached by the South Pacific Manager for Anixter, to return to this company as Location Manager. I accepted this offer, and continue to work here today.My industry knowledge and experience has enabled me to develop long term and growing relationships with key clients in the Telecommunications/ICT/Structured Cabling market. I have designed, managed, and successfully delivered complex customer infrastructure solutions including;• Communications infrastructure for large scale industrial sites• Data Centre fit-out for key corporate and global financial clients• Large-scale network infrastructure installation (fibre-optic) for campus networks.
