Projects:Satellite actuator controller - Design EngineerImplementation of firmware upgrades and resolution of firmware bugs. Subject mater expert of 4 flight system PCBs. I am responsible for creation and completion of PCB worst case design analysis and project documentation. Integration of Microsemi 1553 RT core in RTAX2000 (RadHard).

Projects:Boeing NASA Soft Capture System (SCS) – Firmware Engineer Implementation of hand coded firmware based MATLAB Simulink system models (called control laws) using VHDL. During development these models were verified using a co-simulation tool between Simulink and Modelsim. The firmware allows the actuators (pictured below) unique types of motion in.

Lead Engineer of new design for a high performance radar pulse generation board delivered as part of a CEESIM simulator. Critical design activities included: High speed board and Firmware design across multiple FPGAs and Power Quick 8250 processor on the same PWA. High speed SDRAM (125MHz) hardware and firmware interface. IP creation of FPGA point to point.

• Responsibilities included the design of high speed microprocessor & FPGA based circuit board products.
• PCIX server plug in board firmware – FPGA top level VHDL to connect functional blocks including PCIX 125 MHz core (which required modification to increased clock rate to 133 MHz), a PPC IF and a custom DDR controller.
• Writer control board and firmware - This board took raster image data and corrected the intensity level based on internally stored LED parameters. The PWA and firmware design included interface to a 1.6 Mbps serial.
• Test Control Board (TCB) board and firmware – This 9U VME based board captured and delivered image data to any other board in the card cage. Includes a 9U VME interface, 128MB SRAM controller. US Patent 7,246,887, US.
