Currently doing a PhD at the University of Cambridge, looking into new ways of measuring carbon content in the ocean using novel optical fibre approaches. This project involves working out how to optimally attach fluorescent dyes and other structures to the end of optical fibres, and transferring lab insights into practical, deployable sensing systems. Before my PhD, I obtained an MRes degree from Cambridge from the Sensor Technologies and Applications Doctoral Training programme. This involved a diverse range of study, and a group project tackling the problem of global battery waste - which has become an ongoing project alongside my PhD. I have a First Class BEng degree from the University of Surrey. Whilst a student there, I was elected President of the Electronics and Amateur Radio Society for two terms (2019/20 & 2021/22), which involved running various projects and courses relating to electronics and software.I have experience with embedded software, particularly with the Arduino and PIC microcontroller platforms, as well as general electronics. I am proficient in a range of programming languages, primarily embedded C and Python.
