I am currently working at ISG Retail as Senior Buyer and part of the Supply Chain Department team. My job requires me to procure various items for a number of contracts which range from banks such as LTSB, HSBC, Barclays and also retail stores such as Monsoon/Accessorize, Victoria's Secret, Hackett and Lego.I am looking to become more knowledgeable in my role and have so far undertaken and completed an Introduction to Purchasing Course, an NVQ in Supply Chain Management at Level 3 and an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Management. I have also recently taken part in and completed a Fire Awareness course and Emergency First Aid at Work with St John's Ambulance. Going forward I would like to keep building on my industry knowledge and education portfolio and continue to be a pivotal team member at ISG.

I joined Cathedral Contracts in 2006 as a Client Supply Chain Assistant working in the warehouse alongside the Manager. My duties were to keep track of inbound/outbound goods and ensure that any deliveries were loaded in accordance with the delivery note provided. Following promotion to Supply Chain Administrator, I am tasked with purchasing items such as aggregate building materials, furniture, ironmongery, fixings and even short term vehicle hire. I have purchased materials for many organisations such as Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays, HSBC, Mulberry, Jury's Hotel Kensington and Tesco. This role has helped me develop more advanced management and teamwork skills. In addition I am now responsible for making more decisions on a daily basis and of course need to ensure I am representing the best interests of the business at all times.

I enrolled as member of the warfare branch and quickly joined the Anti Submarine Warfare section. My tasks alongside and at sea would vary; when alongside I worked in the Radar office helping the Chief Petty Office in charge maintain the day to day running of the various radars on the ship, when at sea I would work in the Ops room as an SPS (Surface Picture Supervisor) reporting directly to the Officer of the Watch who would be navigating the ship at that time. I was also a qualified WE Rounds man which would involve me checking every weapon/radar compartment on an hourly basis over a watch period of 12 hours. In my 4 years service I carried out 2 duties in Iraq and was awarded the Operation Telic Medal. I gained so much from this experience; from the unparalleled discipline (and enjoyment) of military team work to the need for attention to detail. I also learnt a lot about the wider world, including social, political and cultural differences across a range of people and geographies.

I worked in telesales for Saga starting part-time and only working a few hours in the evening during my 6th form education period. Subsequently I was recruited to a full time position in the sales department specialising in car and house insurance. This was often very busy with a high volume of calls on a daily basis and in an office environment where everyone was under pressure to perform to meet a significant volume of calls. This taught me a lot about dealing with people in a professional and productive manner.
