Created new org structure, harmonized roles & processes, and implemented Buyer/Planner concept.• Created and implemented harmonized inventory policy for purchased materials ensuring optimal supply to meet business needs.• Led team in developing cost savings program, resulting in $7 million in direct materials cost savings for fiscal year.• Procurement team leader for Class "A" MRP II project. A 24-month project that resulted in numerous Procurement and Supply Chain improvements.• Team Leader for Lab Supplies Procurement team for the Apotex Group of Companies. This team analyzed the annual purchases of over 6,000 items with 470 vendors, wrote an RFP, and contract. Made award to a key supplier resulting in cost savings, while improving the acquisition process for labs through Procurement Card implementation. This team process was the first of its kind in the company.• Organized and managed a cross-corporate team for Corrugated cartons, and Folding Cartons purchases - reduced vendors from 7 to 2, defined and improved service levels, and reduced costs by 8-15% annually.• Cost avoidances and savings of $1MM in 2001 to >$ 5MM in 2004 through improved methods of negotiating, sourcing, and buying materials.
