I am currently working as an Assistant Headteacher at Hedingham School & Sixth Form in Essex. My role specialises in looking at assessment systems and data analysis tools to help identify study progress and understand the different outcomes students are achieving across the subjects in order to provide meaningful feedback and suggestions about how this student progress can be maximised. I utilise a variety of outside systems to help with target setting and data analysis (including FFT, SISRA, ALPS etc.), but am also adept at developing bespoke systems in house which help to uniquely identify patterns and trends within our school data on a more personal student focused level. Within the classroom teaching portion of my job role (teaching Computer Science and IT), I predominantly teach sixth form classes across both A-Levels, BTEC Nationals and now across the exciting new T-Level qualifications. On occasion and when required to I also teach KS3 and KS4 classes for Computer Science and IT.Within my other roles at school I identify key systems within the school and look to see how these could be improved to ensure that these systems are an asset to the classroom and to the school, not an additional workload burden. Recently I took the role of Project Lead with the whole school rollout of a new Management Information System (MIS), this exciting opportunity included liaising with several outside organisations to ensure a smooth transition, developing and leading whole school training sessions and providing one to one support for staff as we moved from one system to another. Previous to my job role as a teacher I worked as a manager for 2 large hospitality and entertainment companies; JD Wetherspoon and Luminar Leisure. During my time as a teacher I have found that many of the skills acquired whilst working for these companies has been extremely useful and transferable into the school environment. These include: time management and organisation, dealing with behavioural issues, maintaining a level head in all situations, enhancing my skills at working in an office environment and also dealing with people face to face in everyday situations.
