I hold over six years experience in the conservation non-profit sector. I have keen interest in ecological restoration and a broad knowledge of trees and woods including the challenges around establishing new woodland. Over the years I have developed a well rounded suite of skills and qualities including:- Managing consultant and volunteer networks- Partnership working with local authorities, other NGOs and government bodies such as the Environment Agency- Putting together tenders and work contracts- High level grant managenent- Experimental woodland design for research- Managing budgets and using accounts systems for requisitions/invoices- Tree procurement and managing relationships with the tree nursery sector- Project coordinating UK wide competitions- Event planning and engaging with the wider public on environmental issues- Meeting/workshop facilitation and chairing project groups- Developing technology based solutions to complex problems using packages such as Excel, Microsoft Teams, Monday.com and GIS packages (Arc GIS and QGIS)I'm always on the lookout for the next challenge and an opportunity to learn.
