• Participates in the planning and performance of financial management studies that involve the analysis of various accounting and administrative processes, i.e. budgetary, procurement, reimbursable agreement, debt management and property management functions in support of internal controls and management excellence.• Provides technical advice, interpretations, and recommendations on established procedures and manuals to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial operations and internal controls.• Reviews and enters a variety of information and accounting data into financial systems timely and accurately.• Analyzes and examines financial data, accounts, process flows and reports to identify and resolve abnormal transactions, errors, and/or discrepancies in support of various accounting functions and customer needs.• Plans, organizes, performs duties and completes assignments in compliance with Federal and organizational guidelines, policies, legal and regulatory requirements.• Maintains, reconciles, researches and closes accounts involving a variety of transactions and supports month end and year end closing.

Performing the role of a Financial Specialist:• Collaborate with Payment and Travel Management Team in delivering quality customer service to internal NPS customers/stakeholders and external customers regarding vendor payments and employee travel payments; researches the DOI Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) to respond to customer inquiries via emails and telephone callsPerforming the role of a Administrative Assistant:• Prepare official memorandums and other correspondence for management signatures using various software and applications, such as MS Office Suite, MS Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, DOI Data Tracking System• Manage office space access via DataWatch card system access assignment and entry card assignment• Perform data entry for a variety of administrative and financial functional areas such as budget and finance, travel, property, purchasing, and supply management• Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting senior staff members in completing tasks and delivering customer service
