An experienced Chartered Town Planner with over 18 years Development Management experience in the public sector. I am passionate about places and enjoy being a Planner as it provides the opportunity to shape and influence change in a positive and proactive manner. Experienced in advising on and processing major, complex and often controversial development proposals. Such schemes include large scale residential, commercial, retail, mixed use developments, health, regeneration schemes and town centre re-developments. The ability to analyse and manage complex, and often conflicting issues before making balanced and reasoned recommendations in accordance with planning legislation and procedures, local and national planning policies and other material planning considerations. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to liaise, advise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders involved in the Planning process. Significant experience in the planning appeals and enforcement processes.
