I safely operated nuclear reactors on board U.S. Naval submarines. I was an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Prototype Training Unit. I performed primary maintenance on multiple platforms. I was the Leading Petty Officer of Reactor Control Division on the USS Florida.

Successfully lead and trained junior reactor operators on the maintenance and operation of the nuclear reactor and supporting electrical systems which directly resulted in an above average scoring in every naval reactors audit and inspection held.Performed various major reactor plant testing including Nuclear Instrument Repairs, Nuclear Detector Replacement, Refueling, Rod Position Indication Replacement. Performed over 2000 maintenance items on reactor protection equipment, primary plant instrumentation and control, nuclear instrumentation, rod control, and other reactor control equipment. Written over 50 work packages for coordination with crew and shipyard personnel. Well versed in Operational Safety & Health Administration/Power Plant safety guidelines.Trained over 200 officer and 500 enlisted students, in basic electrical theory, reactor plant theory, thermodynamics, and submarine operations. Evaluated students in classroom and shipboard environments.Enforced the highest standards of quality training directly attributing to <1% academic attrition in over 100 enlisted students.

Supervised 7 nuclear reactor operators in the successful completion of Nuclear Detector and Rod Position Indication Replacement. Coordinated reactor safety related maintenance with 3 other work centers to ensure Reactor Plant safety, and increase overall plant reliability. Recognized by the squadron as the top reactor control division out of all boats in the squadron, due to flawless execution of maintenance and repairs to equipment vital to reactor safety and ship operations.
