CurrentProject, design, and test engineer for embedded liquid level measurement systems (automatic tank gauges), utilizing micro-power impulse radar, ultrasound, and pressure, that send their data via RS-485, 900 MHz spread spectrum RF (Digi Xstream modules), and/or the Globalstar satellite network (Axonn STX modules). Design (using ORCAD Capture and Layout), build, and programm controller and interface circuit boards using Atmel AVR microcontrollers. Very experienced in serial (RS-232, 485, current loop) circuit and data analysis, primarily the data flowing between gasoline dispensers and their controllers. Typical project steps include concept brainstorm, whiteboard sketch, CAD drawings, BOM creation, prototype construction, hardware troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies, test plan creation, software debugging, production, and then field engineering.
