I am what we say; a Greenwood’s ‘lifer’, joining the firm as a Trainee in 1984, qualifying as a Solicitor in 1986 and then becoming a Partner in 1989. I have spent my career at the coalface growing the firm’s employment team and have been acknowledged by the legal directories as a leader in my field for over 30 years.I have acted in cases before the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords. I believe my strengths lie in my commercial, practical and personable approach to delivering solutions to clients.The current edition of The Legal 500 places me in its ‘Hall of Fame’ amongst its list of East Anglia’s leading individuals for employment law, a position I have been fortunate enough to occupy for several years.Not for the first time, the current edition of Chambers and Partners’ UK legal directory ranks me alone as an ‘Eminent Practitioner’ in the field of employment law in East Anglia. In previous editions it has also stated; “praised by sources for his employment litigation practice, with one interviewee noting: “Robert is fantastic; he is a serious litigator”.”I have been the Managing Partner of Greenwoods Legal LLP since 2009. My passion lies in leadership and the firm’s values of respect, excellence, freedom and fun. I believe I work hard to empower and develop my colleagues in their roles and to seek simplicity and clarity in all the firm does.Since 2019, I have been a Trustee of the international disability charity, CBM UK, where I chair the Finance and Audit Committee.Since the beginning of 2022, I have also been a NED of Stratagem IPM Limited, a Cambridge-based company which delivers a total intellectual property management solution for its clients.
