I have forty years combined experience in the fields of architecture and planning, including management of staff, consultants and projects, on a variety of building types, through design and construction, in new construction and renovation, at public and private universities and private practice. This includes developing positive working relationships with university trustees, donors, administration and staff, university approval groups, user groups, faculty, students, consultants, developers, construction managers, general contractors, government agencies at all levels, special interest groups on and off-campus, and private clients.My current position is Director of Planning and Design in the department of Planning and Construction at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. This position has supervisory responsibility for professional staff and administration of the project management function. Projects range in size from minor renovations to major capital projects. Project delivery methods include design/bid/build, construction manager at risk and design/build.My prior position was Associate Director of University Planning at Yale University and previously Assistant Director of Facilities Planning at the Medical School. My Yale experience focused on long term, area and facilities planning, project formulation, project management of design phases of major capital projects with involvement through construction. Prior to Yale, I was Design Project Manager for major expansion phase at ASU West in Phoenix and held a similar position at Tempe campus with additional planning reponsibilities. My Arizona State experience included all phases of building projects - planning, programming, design, bidding, construction administration, occupancy. Previously I had advanced to position of principal in a medium-sized Phoenixarchitectural/planning firm. My experience there was Project Manager and Architect on a variety of building types with focus on hi-tech, office and retail buildings.
