Design And Release Engineer – Electronic Brake Controller Module
Current- Define engineering design criteria and component design requirements and create subsystem technical specifications (SSTS), component technical specifications (CTS), and statements of requirements (SORs) to obtain required functionality and performance, pursuant to brake control module and sensor bills of materials (BOMs) and bills of design (BODs).- Create brake sensor and control module statements of requirements (SORs) and component timing plans, and provide engineering input to Purchasing Team during sourcing.- Define mechanical interface control document (ICDm) requirements for brake sensor and control module systems, subsystems, and components and negotiate with engineers responsible for interfacing components, subsystems, and systems to resolve packaging and integration issues, leveraging geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).- Execute design failure mode and effects analyses (DFMEAs), design reviews based on failure modes (DRBFMs), and peer reviews and validate engineering designs using computer-aided design and engineering (CAD/CAE) tools, such as VisMockup, Unigraphics, and Teamcenter.- Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) engineering principles to ensure the production feasibility of brake sensors and control modules.- Generate and respond to engineering work orders (EWOs), temporary work orders (TWOs), and change requests (CRs) in the GM Engineering Change Management system.- Assess finite element analysis (FEA) results to verify that brake sensors and control modules satisfy thermal and performance criteria.- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of issues identified during brake development validation testing and document issues and their resolution in the GM Problem Resolution and Tracking System (PRTS) and Program Quality Management System (PQMS).
