Key member of Save the Children's Global Education Secretariat, where my role is to lead and coordinate Save the Children's activities to influence significant political and social change (at global, regional and national level) to ensure every last child learns from quality early childhood care and development and a quality basic education.To help achieve this, I Chair Save the Children's Education Advocacy and Policy Working Group, and focus my work on:- developing clear and focused global education advocacy strategies and priority objectives.- leading on education policy development for priority issues.- enabling the successful delivery of advocacy objectives - via clear engagement plans for advocacy moments/opportunities and research/briefings/reports/speech-writing.- establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external partners/stakeholders.My role includes both global coordination and direct engagement with our country offices to help them achieve national education advocacy objectives, and ensure there is a strong connection between our global and national work.I'm particularly passionate about ensuring children's voices and needs directly influence and shape key education political and policy decisions, and that we use Save the Children's expertise and evidence from our programme delivery work to drive advocacy that provides evidence-based and practical solutions which work.
