I am a recovering non-dreamer. I recently was brought to the realization that I had stopped dreaming in my life. I'll admit not completely, I had the small and inconsequential dreams still. I had however stopped looking for more. I had become complacent in life and more or less accepted what currently was happening in my life was, for the most part, what "I wanted/was going to get". I had falsely accepted that the world knew nothing of me, and being noticed for hard work was a thing of the past. I followed the paths dictated for me with my best attitude and leaving no regrets on the table....at work. Personally was another story. I am a people person, those who know, know that. I loved my Service Job and made more friends than clients, but it wasn't enough for me. I knew I was capable of enabling change. A manager once asked me what my dream position would be and I told him simply an Employee Moral Specialist. I laughed and thought it was my Unicorn. Recently I was introduced to someone who was riding my Unicorn into a beautiful sunset, and I realized with alarming clarity, I still had bigger dreams. I have realized my dreams again and I am making them happen. I will be the change that I know is needed.
