Accountable for the financial management, planning, analysis and reporting of the PPF. Secondment from Allianz Global Assistance Head Office in Paris to the Dutch holding company of 5 European branches), comprising two concurrent responsibilities. As Group Controller this involved the analysis of business trends and coordination with the branch Chief Financial Officers reporting to the CFO. As Group Risk Officer this was a dual accountability to the Board and the Allianz Global Assistance Risk Officer. The role comprised- Design and implementation of a risk strategy, including an investment policy- Formation and running of the Risk Committee- Assessment and monitoring of risks including liaison with the branch Chief Risk Officers

Leadership of the team of Head Office controllers (covering 30 entities worldwide) with responsibility for the analysis and challenge of business units’ performance, strategies and budgets. This role reported to the Group CFO. This required an improvement of the focus and quality of work done by Controllers, including how they worked with the international business units.Design and rollout of a new Chart of Accounts as part of the roll out of SAP ensuring the requirements of users and Allianz were met. This required extensive working with users across the international businesses obtaining their contribution and ownership and buy-in.Development and implementation of the new Cost Accounting Policy for the Group, gaining the buy-in and collaboration of business units, Head Office departments and Allianz. This included the writing of policy documentation, presentations and running workshops.

This was during a time of rapid growth both in size and complexity.
