I act as a leader within the Financial Institutions team, serving as an authority point for numerous other underwriters, handling complex renewals, and contributing to the strategic direction of the business unit.By utilizing my wide broker network, I have effectively sourced opportunities and generated profitable new business for the team. I have traveled to Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver in order to broaden broker relationships and drive growth across Canada.In my current role, I have greater responsibility for acting as a leader for the more junior underwriters and co-ops through formal training sessions as well as on an ongoing basis, focusing on things like product wording and identifying key underwriting considerations.

Working in the Financial Institutions department at one of the world’s largest insurance companies, I am responsible for underwriting some of the largest asset managers in Canada. Worked as an Underwriter as part of the Management Liability Team, managing a renewal book and selling new business for Publicly-Traded companies. The products I sold included Directors & Officers, Employment Practice Liability, Crime, Kidnap & Random, and Fiduciary Liability. Additional parts of the job included networking and marketing to brokers, meeting with clients, and leading a prospecting initiative. I also produced a mining industry profitability study which was presented to senior management.
