I helped this HR software company float on the LSE as a non-executive director. I became managing director after a serious lapse in corporate governance and performance. Turned it around from near failure during the recession in the IT sector and returned it to a thriving and profitable business particularly in the health sector. Today it is a major player.

Whilst with NatWest I led the small management buy-out of this local newspaper company and became its senior non-executive director during its fourteen years until it was sold successfully to Trinity Mirror for £380m. I took part in many corporate acquisition & governance issues as it grew to a substantial public company. The investors, who were the largest funds at the time, made returns of over 100 times their money.
