Robert Duck was born in McAlester, Oklahoma and raised in Grants, New Mexico. In addition to his business degrees from New Mexico State University and the University of Phoenix, Robert's experience includes serving his country in the US Army - spending three years as a saxophone player in the Army Bands and 21 years in the New Mexico Army National Guard 44th Army Band. He retired as First Sergeant. After winning the Deming Duck Race in Deming, New Mexico twelve times and collecting more than $50,000 in prize money, Robert decided that between his last name 'Duck' and his championship duck racing, he might have a new career. He sold his wholesale jewelry business of twenty years and founded Duck Enterprises, LLC dba The Great American Duck Race. For the last 16 years, he's traveled the country (47 of the 50 states!) with his Great American Duck Race entertaining families at fairs and events and educating the public about Mallard ducks. His duck racing has landed him as a guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and in a three page article in People Magazine. He "talked ducks" with Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander from Duck Dynasty, long before the show started and was named Honorary Citizen of Deming and Luna County, New Mexico. Robert is married to and has been tolerated by Kathy DeVelice for 54 years (but who’s counting)?!He is proud father to Bryce Duck, a senior project manager for Intel and Sharon Duck-Bernard, a Starbuck’s Manager.
