ReCity Network is Durham's hub for social impact. We are a co-networking enterprise that uses shared, collaborative space to bring together not-for profit and for profit social impact organizations with a focus on training leaders to develop personally, professionally, and organizationally. As the Director of Development and Community Engagement, my role focuses on growing the ReCity community by finding new partners and members looking to be at the forefront of community development through collaborative unity.

DigitalBridge is a 501c3 nonprofit organization rooted in digital equity that aids people and communities in gaining digital skills and accessing higher-paying, in-demand careers through comprehensive digital training courses. As the Operations Manager, I oversee the day-to-day operations of the program while also aligning those opportunities with the broader goals and strategies of the organization. I am also a leader in the creation of funding strategies, engaging stakeholders, and community outreach.

Completed my M.S. in Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with a Biological Oceanography concentration. My work pertained to water quality and how oyster filtration affects phytoplankton abundances and diversity leading to trophic level shifts in the food web of the Bogue Sound in Morehead City, N.C.

Taught lab courses ranging from Introduction to Oceanography to Introduction to Earth Systems, as well as a summer field course in Marine Sciences in Morehead City, N.C. Helped redesign lab curriculum for these lab courses, led weekly lab meetings for teaching assistants to teach successful laboratory sessions using the most up to date pedagogical methods, and managed lab material operations. Received two 'Excellence in Teaching' awards for my work in teaching and designing curriculum.

Analyzed and prepared a variety of international environmental samples using instrumentation for testing on heavy metals, with an emphasis on lead and hexavalent chromium. Created standard operating procedures for software and sample methodology.

Operated various scientific equipment and prepared water samples from rivers, lakes, wastewater plants, industries and drinking water from various cities throughout North Carolina to help meet their water quality management goals. Collected influent and effluent samples using a variety of different field techniques. Trained multiple employees on different scientific methods and procedures and devised and prepared a variety of reports, both technical and non-technical.

Managed the water treatment facility on a landfill site completing field work which included wetland, leachate, and wastewater treatment plant sampling and maintenance, along with wetland treatment, system flow data collection, and evaporation pan data collection. Daily temperature, barometric and water and control pump readings were also completed on a regular basis. Analyzed water quality of leachate from the landfill using multiple laboratory procedures including micro-biological examination, pH testing, dissolved oxygen tests and ammonia testing. Data entry and analysis including groundwater, influent/effluent, process control, and primary and secondary leachate were performed.
