I trained as a Tax Attorney ( currently retired status with the AZ State Bar )and was also a CPA in AZ for over 20 years. My first job was with the Phoenix City Auditor's Office where I eventually ran the Operations Audit function and an Administrative Law Hearing function ( sales tax protests ). After 6 years there, I joinded KPMG as a Manager and started the Arizona State and Local Tax practice ( which I grew to over 20 employees and $4MM in revenue ). I made partner in 3.5 years and three months later became the National Partner in Charge of the Property Tax Practice. Over the next 11 years I grew that practice from less than $1MM in revenue to over $20MM. After 7 years of running the first two practices I took over the National Sales and Transaction Tax practice for KPMG. In the next three years I grew that practice from $25MM in annual revenue to a total of over $160MM in the next three years. In 2004 KPMG decided to sell the Property Tax practice and I led a group of 4 who bought it and took it out as an independant business; Paradigm Tax Group. Over the next ten years we completed 10 smaller practice acquisitions and sold the firm twice to Private Equity Firms ( total proceeds of over $210MM ). The first Private Equity firm earned 81% IRR on their investment ( the highest in the history of that firm ).The second transaction was for almost 20 times what we paid for the practice a little over 10 years earlier. I retired from that Company in March 2014. Currently, for the past 2.5 years I've operated as the CEO of WynZyn which is a mobile Video Advertising App, I founded. We formed the company in July 2014 and our app became available to the public in April 2016.
