The last 10 years of my career has been spent in senior finance roles. I’m fortunate to have experienced working in a consultancy, a FTSE 100 and most recently in the financial services sector. Together these roles have developed a broad set of skills, knowledge and know-how that has enabled my career to grow substantially. From 2003 I worked at Experian and fulfilled global roles in strategy, reporting and analysis. This exposure facilitated the development of a series of skills including my commercial awareness where I provided commercial support for new products by producing business cases with all relevant financial measures (IRR, Payback Period, NPV, etc) and led on all financial aspects of Strategic Planning in the Global Business Line (GBL) with the Strategic Plan being presented to Experian Board. In addition I managed the financial aspects of the Global Strategic Development and Consulting department which comprised 7 different cost centres across 8 global locations with $30m+ cost budget. After Experian I was keen to fulfil a head of finance role and joined Welcome Finance. Whilst at Welcome, the company ceased lending and transformed operations to collect out the outstanding book and sell key assets. This had a dramatic impact on my role and as a result has provided me with a set of unique challenges and achievements. For the last three years I’ve fulfilled the role of Head of FSCS Operations and Commercial. As a member of the Business Closedown Project team I was involved in the investigation, provided recommendations and implemented optimal strategies to close down the WFSL business in the best way for all stakeholders. Significantly, my role was to manage all FSCS negotiations and operations and I’m proud to have transformed the operational structure, cross skilled my department, boosted efficiency and managed a robust and collaborative relationship with the FSCS, resulting in over 27,000 claims being processed and over £45m total redress paid.

Role included: * Leading successful negotiations with the FSCS to allow WFSL to sell loan accounts and handling of other insurance miss-selling claims (e.g. not PPI), enabling WFSL to follow chosen value maximising closedown strategy * Leadership of four different teams and overall responsibility for +40 people * Responsibility for all FSCS operations, including the management of customer communications ensuring claims fairly considered with over 97% claims processed with appropriate redress and in a compliant manner * Responsible for cash management resulting in over £25m of payments being made back to WFSL from the FSCS * Led a team to review over 42,000 historical PPI claims to ensure correct level of redress received, to the value of £5m and with an operating budget of over £2m. * Managed the delivery of the Claims Handling Agreement (“CHA”) with the FSCS to the agreed SLA’s; including over 100,000 items of correspondence reviewed and responded to within the 5 day SLA. * Managed analysis of a potential further scheme of arrangement for a specific set of WFSL creditors and presented successfully to ExCo and Board

Head Of FinanceCattles Plc Oct 2008 - May 2012Nottingham, United Kingdom* Supported the management and delivery of the CHA agreed between Welcome and the FSCS resulting in over 58,000 claims being processes and over £100m redress paid. * Provided commercial support for WFSL Scheme of Arrangement elements that related to Unprotected PPI policyholders (Pre 05). * Completed initial business plan for FSCS claims handling operations which was approved by WFSL Board and FSCS. * Negotiated various contracts, including a contract with a Complaints CRM system supplier allowing claims processing to become “paperless”. * Managed six monthly reconciliation of FSCS cash redress payments to Claims Handling CRM system (Respond) to ensure funds were being used as expected. * Responsible for the Quality Assurance function to ensure compliance with over 97% of claims processed achieving the required quality score and over 250,000 items of correspondence reviewed and responded to within the 5 day SLA’s. * Following the discovery that WFSL had significantly understated the Loan Loss Provision, responsible for the redesign of the methodology used to create the provision and presentation with subsequent approval of this complex methodology to the Board, Auditors and Financial Reporting Review Panel (statutory accounts monitoring organisation) * As member of the business restructure team, built and implemented a model that forecasted cash collections over a 5 year period by product and by loan inception month, providing the most important number in the 5 year business plan and approved by all of the “Big 4” accountancy firms and the financial creditors of the business. * Provided commercial advice on which loan accounts to select for early settlement as well as MI which monitored the success of the project (generating extra +£2m for business) * Produced a product profitability matrix by sales channel and credit rating which was instrumental in shaping future business methods
