Health and Safety Officer for HRI owned racecourses, Leopardstown Racecourse, Fairyhouse Racecourse, Navan Racecourse and Tipperary Racecourse. HRI racecourses have attendances of over 250,000 people per year and operate throughout the year.Tasks including:Creation of a structured Health and Safety system at the four HRI racecourses;Creating Standard Operating Procedures, risk assessments, safety statements, training programs and the delivery of training to staff;Delivery of training programs for over 200 staff throughout all 4 racecourses;Onsite support to racecourses during major events which would be attended by up to 20,000 patrons per day, including consultation and assistance to various contractors onsite and being the point of contact on Health and Safety issues for Traffic Management contractors, Security providers, Ambulance services, Caterers and Gardaí;Provide senior management with Health and Safety advice;Consultation with insurance companies on Health and Safety issues, including the documenting of procedures, investigation of incidents and accidents, preparation of reports and organising the implementation of any requirements which they identify;Provided ergonomics assessments for office based staff;Running various operations projects for the racecourses as required by senior management.Managed the introduction of a new ticketing system for the 4 courses, including creation of a project management plan (using Prince 2 methodology), the tending of the project, selection of successful proposal, drafting of contracts, building of the system, training staff on its use, support to staff at all the courses and handing over finished project to the business units;Working closely with procurement in tending and selection of contractors, involving both at EU and Irish thresholds.
