Robert Scott has more than forty years of experience, with a focus on complex civil trial litigation. Robert has experience litigating in all areas of product liability, drug and medical device, environmental/toxic torts, construction and insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He has served as national counsel in insurance coverage and product liability litigation and has represented a number of companies in class action litigation. In addition, Robert is an active member in several professional organizations. He is a Past President of The Defense Research Institute (DRI); Past President of Lawyers for Civil Justice (LCJ); Past President of National Foundation of Judicial Excellence (NFJE) and Past President of the Maryland Defense Counsel (MDC). He was the 2016 recipient of the DRI Louis B. Potter Lifetime Professional Service Award, an award which honors an individual who exemplifies the highest professionalism and service to the legal profession. Robert was the 2018 recipient of the John H. Mudd Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maryland Defense Counsel.Robert has published articles and lectures frequently nationwide on issues pertaining to drug and medical device, product liability, toxic tort/environmental law, trial skills and insurance coverage issues. Mr. Scott achieved an A/V® rating from Martindale Hubbell®, the highest possible peer review rating for ethics and legal ability.
