I have been employed most of my life in some section of the Construction Industry. I started out at a young age working with my father in his Home Building Business and learned much about home construction. I entered the US Army right out of high school and I was trained to be a heavy equipment repairman and assigned to a Heavy Construction Equipment Battalion in the US Army Corps of Engineers in Germany. After my initial tour in the Army I returned to work with my father. I attended a Community College in the evening and weekends where I studied in the Civil Engineering Technology Field and worked during the day. During this time I obtained a position with American Bridge working in their construction department store house where I performed work as a laborer, spray painter and crane crew rigger. I left this position to find work in a field related to my education in civil engineering. I received employment with a Coal Mine Shaft and Slope Construction Company as an Engineer Liaison where I worked in the field on the projects performing office duties to include payroll, parts/supplies requisition and purchasing, field quantity verifications for payment and acting as go between coal company engineering section and my employer. I laft this position due to a down turn in the coal industry.
