I am a physicist and a U. S. citizen with more than 44 years of experience in lasers, optical fiber amplifiers, and fiber optic transmission systems. I have placed over a dozen products into manufacture, have ten patents issued or in progress, and authored or co-authored more than 100 publications in refereed journals and conferences. My current emphasis is on the following areas: 1) Leading edge experimental, simulation, analysis, and research work in advanced IR fiber lasers and amplifiers, concentrating on Ytterbium-, Bismuth-, Erbium-, Thulium- and Holmium-doped technology2) Research, development, and commercialization of 1064/1300/1550/2000 nm rare-earth doped and Raman fiber lasers and amplifiers 3) Generation of a comprehensive patent portfolio for rare earth doped/Raman fiber lasers and amplifiers4) Technical project and program management for fiber lasers and amplifiers5) Ultra-short pulse fiber amplifiers and lasers
