"Go find interesting things and make them happen" was the objective given to me when I started at IBM, and happily I am still getting to do that 20 years later. My job reinvents itself almost every day. I am the Program Director for IBM Quantum Government Science Programs, which is a technical business development role. My objectives are to expand and help support government scientific research and education programs and clients in their use of IBM quantum computing, thereby enabling broader adoption of this emerging technology.My activities at IBM over the years has encompassed a number of areas: Technology Alliances & IP, Technical Computing & HPC, Smarter Cities/Planet, Healthcare & Life Sciences, development of partnerships, and IBM's University Relations Grant Programs. Throughout my career, I have worked with universities, government R&D institutions, hospitals & biomedical research institutions, chemical, pharmaceutical, materials and petroleum companies across all of the continents (except Antarctica). Before IBM, I spent part of my career in the USDOE National Labs and my research background and publications are in quantum chemistry.I am now based in the US, having come back from living six years in the Middle East.
