Dr. Edinger did his graduate work examining the estrogen-dependent transcriptional activation and vitellogenin gene memory at the University of West Virginia under the supervision of Dr. Marilyn Evans. Upon completing his doctorate, Dr. Edinger accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh under the direction of Michael Rokaw and John Johnson examining the effects of aldosterone on the Epithelial Sodium Channel (ENaC) activation and trafficking. Dr. Edinger was promoted to Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and continued to study the trafficking and regulation of ENaC. Dr. Edinger has published over 30 peer reviewed manuscripts and has contributed to the advancement in the field.Dr. Edinger has extensive research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, electrophysiology, immunofluorescence microscopy, proteomics and tissue culture. In addition, Dr. Edinger has trained various technicians, students and post-docs general laboratory techniques and critical thinking through this period. Dr. Edinger’s work has allowed him to present his work at several international meeting with poster and oral presentations. Dr. Edinger would like to continue advancing the field of basic science hoping to discover insights to how the trafficking of ENaC can lead to improved outcomes in controlling hypertension.
