As I approach the last years of my professional career, I have not regretted any of my career steps. I would not have guessed in 1980 that my last 15 years would have been in pharmaceuticals, having begun in the coffee marketing field. What I have learned is life presents opportunities and many are not planned. I went to Japan marketing chewing gum, met the future head of pharmaceuticals, got on his team, got to launch Lipitor, watched us get taken over, started DTC Perspectives. I love running my own company and encourage young MBA's to take risks and not just look to big corporations. DTC Perspectives, which has been focused on pharmaceutical advertising to consumers has just expanded to add Hospital marketing to our mix. We now have consumer marketing of drugs, multicultural marketing, and marketing to consumers at physicians and retail drug stores as our focus.
