My first experience with work came when I was 16. I began working as a waiter in an Italian restaurant in my home town of Carlisle. After some business between the owners at the time, by 18 years old I was working shifts where I was in charge of the whole front of house team. Which included very serious responsibilities for my age like taking payments, cashing up, issuing refunds, dealing with complaints and organising a team that was largely older than me. I worked there between 16-19 or so in the time I was studying at Trinity School Sixth Form. I excelled in Business Studies and English during my time there and left with A-Levels in Business, Physical Education & English Language.I then went to the University of Stirling to study Journalism with the view to becoming a football writer. I spent 4 years there and graduated with a 2:1 in my degree. I studied the likes of digital journalism, law and government & print journalism and produced my final year project on the issues surrounding mental health in young people. Following my time at Univeristy I returned to Carlisle, working part time at Centre Parcs whilst i searched for a job more inline with my education. I got from around 50,000 down to the final 25 of the BBC trainee journalism process. Following that I was invited to an interview with Fanwave in Edinburgh, since taking the job my skills have developed exponentially and my role has changed and broadened. I’ve continuously added new skills and qualities to my arsenal. Moving from a social media executive in to a senior role in my team, leading others in daily tasks and meetings to accomplish the companies goals whilst working within the values and expectations. I’m hard working, extremely driven and very passionate about what I do. I care about my work, everything I do is a reflection of me and who I am. I always want to give my all and do my best, provided the environment encourages and rewards that determination. In my spare time I play football as well as watch it, I enjoy spending time with my friends and love attending gigs & festivals.
