Supervises inmates of all custody levels•Constantly using effective communication to de-escalate inmates and deal with people in crisis situations•Determines necessary precautions to ensure the safety of coworkers, the public and inmates at all times both inside and outside of our jail facility•Responsible for knowing, and following, all Policies and Procedures as set by my department, the state, and the federal government pertaining to my job duties

Develops and maintains most realistic and up to date training curriculums•Trains a diverse group of students ranging from administrative staff at the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office to groups of women from the community who are interested in self-defense training•Responsible for contacting bureaus and maintaining training records that meet their requirements•Critiques techniques in a tactful manner while determining the best teaching methods to use for effective communication and the most enjoyable learning experience
