Project Safety/Quality Engineer
Serves as Project Engineer in support of the Spacecraft & Payloads Integration and Evolution Office (SPIE) within the NASA Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate. Assists in development and review for SPIE elements in Critical Design Review (CDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Flight Readiness Review (FRR), and increment submittals. Documents developed and reviewed for the multiple portions of the CDR include the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS) SSAR, the Multi-Purpose Crewed Vehicle (MPCV) Stage Adapter (MSA) Flight and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) SSAR, and the Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter (LVSA) Flight and GSE SSAR. Serves as alternate Chief Safety Officer for SPIE Verification Review and Approval Board.

Developed test plans, conducted risk and safety analyses, conducted tests and analyses, and reported results. Served as an advisor to manufacturers, engineers, management, related organizations, and/or contractor personnel, giving authoritative advice relative to testing and evaluation. Served as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) proposals and projects for lightweight, deployable, and inflatable spacecraft structures, and is further involved in selection and evaluation of SBIR proposals and projects. Design and analysis software tools used include Femap, NASTRAN, Pro/Engineer, ICE/Windchill, Matlab, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.

Designed and oversaw manufacturing of composite test articles for cryogenic and pressure applications. Wrote test plans and procedures and reviewed test requirements. Skilled in use and selection of accelerometers, shakers, load cells, pressure transducers, flow meters, piezo, piezoceramic, signal conditioning/processing methods, and non-contacting optical measuring devices (i.e. lasers and laser vibrometers). Submitted written test reports and research and development proposals, and served as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) proposals and projects. Wrote, reviewed, and revised organizational issuances (OI's) that document testing, operation, verification, and calibration procedures and guidelines. Proficient in use of vibration and modal test, analysis, and data processing software such as LMS CADA-X, LMS Test.Lab, HP, Spectral Dynamics STAR, Matlab, Polytec, and LabVIEW.
