Initially worked in professional kitchens for about 9 years where I learned about some of the things that make a good worker. Such as punctuality, efficency, problem solving, time management, stress management etc. While working in kitchens I received an associate's degree from UW-Milwaukee at Waukesha and upon completion decided to follow another passion of mine; science. I started my Bachelor's at UW-La Crosse and was lucky enough to find a paid internship with Davy Labs and am nearing my second year there, working full time in the summers. At Davy I have been working on applying skills I gained in the kitchen to certain aspects of laboratory work. The biggest thing I've learned in the lab is that sometimes you have to get creative and think outside the box to troubleshoot any given test or piece of equipment.
