Robert Etchells has been associated with the senior care industry for over thirty-five years and is presently working as a health services consultant, having retired as Regional Vice President of Operations for a not-for-profit organization providing retirement and senior care services. A native of central Pennsylvania, he received his undergraduate degree at the Pennsylvania State University and his Masters Degree in Geriatric Health Care Administration from the University of North Florida.He previously served the Commonwealth as a member of the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, the state licensing board, acting as Chairman from 2010 to 2012, and as the Region I Vice President of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association as well as a member of that association's board of directors. In addition to his professional associations as a Fellow with the American College of Health Care Administrators and American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Etchells serves as an adjunct instructor of Health Care Administration at the Pennsylvania State University. He has received various professional recognitions during his career, including the PHCA “Hero” award as the 2014 Pennsylvania Health Services Administrator of the Year.Mr. Etchells is a veteran of thirty-five state and four federal survey processes including four deficiency free inspections, a Joint Commission accreditation, Union certification and decertification campaigns, several OSHA inspections, a new facility start-up, a facility closure, weather related evacuations and innumerable family and resident issues.
