Despite the title, this is not a sales position. In this role I am the point man on several accounts, handling the booking of all their trucks, whether it's LTL, FTL, or international freight.-Arrange the booking of TL/LTL pickups and deliveries for a variety of accounts -Provide quotes for different freight bids. Negotiate rates with brokers and reps. Handle the rates of each load with markup percentages.-Reporting tracking and invoice variance using heavy excel-Liason between customer and carrier, including emotional management-Handle billing and filing claims

I volunteer with a small team of producers to book an award winning reading series as a benefit to CHIRP Radio. We take six interesting Chicagoans (writers, musicians, local business owners, activists, comedians, inspirational wild cards) to tell their side of the story along a rotating theme. Between each storyteller, a live band performs a song of the reader's choosing to drive the emotion of the story home. This involves brainstorming talent, coordinating schedules between the venue and the band, heavy email communication, data entry, and financials.

As a volunteer with CHIRP, I have hosted a 2-3 hour music show live on-air for 14 years, with responsibilities including music selection, operating the board, entering music data, and fielding requests.I have also written >750+ album reviews for our library, interviewed artists for the podcasts, working cross functionally with production and the features department, and volunteered at live events to represent the station.I have also worked for seven years producing The First Time, a live spoken word and music show that benefits the station. Responsibilities include talent outreach, story workshopping, working cross-functionally with street-teaming, social media, and marketing, as well as problem-solving live during the show.
